Reserve Dispensaries in Ontario

Ontario has by far the largest network of reserve dispensaries in the country: 224 shops across 29 territories. That is more than most people can usefully browse, and it is concentrated rather than spread evenly — two clusters account for close to half of it, and they sit on opposite sides of the province.

The two clusters that matter

Six Nations is the biggest single concentration of Indigenous cannabis retail anywhere we list, with 66 shops around Ohsweken and Hagersville. It is the practical destination for anyone in Hamilton, Brantford, Kitchener, London or the west end of the GTA — roughly an hour from Hamilton, closer to an hour and a quarter from downtown Toronto.

Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory is the other hub, with 44 shops clustered around Deseronto and Shannonville on the Bay of Quinte. It serves Belleville, Kingston, Peterborough and the eastern end of the 401 corridor. If you are east of Oshawa, this is your cluster, not Six Nations.

Beyond those two, Oneida Nation of the Thames (18) southwest of London and Alderville First Nation (13) near Roseneath cover the gaps. Smaller clusters are not lesser — they are quieter, and a higher share of their shops deliver locally.

What you are actually buying

Reserve shops in Ontario sit outside the provincial excise duty and the OCS wholesale markup. That is the structural reason prices are lower, and it is why the gap holds rather than moving with promotions. It also means selection is not standardised the way it is in a licensed store — two shops on the same road can stock completely different things.

Product comes from a mix of sources, and labelling varies. If potency numbers or a specific producer matter to you, the shops with their own websites and posted menus are the ones to start with.

62 Ontario shops flag local delivery, and 10 post 24-hour hours. Delivery radiuses are set shop by shop and most do not reach far off the territory, so confirm yours is covered before counting on it.

Before you go

Ontario is 19+ with government photo ID, and every community sets its own rules on top of that. Cash is the safest assumption: card acceptance is inconsistent and a number of shops are cash or Interac debit only.

Hours move around more than a licensed retail chain, particularly on holidays and during community events. A phone call before a long drive is worth it, which is why we publish the number on every listing that has one.

171 of the 224 Ontario listings carry a Google rating, averaging 4.65. Best rated with a meaningful number of reviews: MELTED Dispensary (5 from 355 reviews); 420 Express (6th Line) (5 from 292 reviews); The Apothecary Six Nations (5 from 237 reviews). Ratings come from Google and are shown as-is — we do not rank shops ourselves and placement is not for sale.

Common questions

How many reserve dispensaries are there in Ontario?

224 across 29 territories — the largest network in Canada. Six Nations alone has 66, and Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory has 44.

Which Ontario reserve has the most dispensaries?

Six Nations, with 66 shops around Ohsweken and Hagersville, southwest of Hamilton. It is the largest concentration of Indigenous cannabis retail we list anywhere.

Are reserve dispensaries cheaper than OCS or licensed Ontario stores?

Generally yes. Reserve shops are not inside the provincial excise duty and wholesale markup structure that sets licensed retail prices, so the difference is structural rather than a sale. Selection is less consistent in exchange.

Do I need to be a status card holder to shop there?

No. The shops we list sell to the general public. You need to be 19 or older with government photo ID, and each community can set additional rules of its own.

Do any Ontario reserve dispensaries deliver?

62 flag local delivery. Radiuses are set individually and most stay close to the territory, so check the delivery area on the listing before you order.
